My name is Derrick, and I am the founder and owner of Beach Dawg Care®. I was inspired to create this business by my cherished dog, Tankie. With a Bachelor of Science in Communications from Appalachian State University, focusing on Electronic Media TV & Radio Broadcasting and minoring in Psychology and Sociology, I possess valuable skills in communication and understanding pet behavior, essential for fostering strong bonds between pets and their owners. Growing up in a family farming business in the North Carolina mountains that emphasized animal care, nutrition, and basic veterinary skills, I have learned the significance of delivering exceptional care to animals. At Beach Dawg Care®, I provide premium pet sitting, dog walking, and dog training services, always treating your furry companions with the highest level of care and respect.

Derrick's Journey
In 2021, Derrick and husband faced a devastating loss when their cherished dog, Tankie, passed away in Derrick arms due to an enlarged heart. This moment prompted Derrick to make a transformative decision, promising Tankie to dedicate his life to helping as many animals as he could. Thus, Beach Dawg Care® was born as Tankie's legacy. With commitment to offering professional and dependable services to pet in Fort Lauderdale and Wilton Manors, Derrick, by decades of experience, continually seeks to enhance his skills to become the best Pet Care Provider in the region, ensuring every animal is safe, happy and well-cared for.
