Cocoa Puff

Abandoned Pet Rescue

Cocoa Puff loves to press herself into your arms for hugs. This Pointer / Dalmation mix is incredibly soft and so sweet. She is deaf, but that makes her sense of smell and sight extra strong plus she knows sign language! Our team has taught her the signs for sit, paw, stay and down. There are many ways to train deaf dogs and Cocoa likes to learn. She is about 2.5 years old and has been overlooked at the shelter for more than a year. She was previously in a home with another dog and just needs a little time to trust new dog friends. Cocoa is fully vetted and has excellent house manners. Please come fall in love with Cocoa Puff, by completing an adoption application at AbandonedPetRescue.org

Mako

The Humane Society of Broward County

Meet adorable two-year-old Mako! He is very playful, loves cuddles, and is a love bug. Mako is crate trained and he also enjoys snuggling and sleeping on his own bed. This cutie is smart and knows sit, stay, and stop. If you’re looking for a dog who enjoys kids and loves to play with them – then Mako is the dog for you. One thing you should know, he wants a home where he can get lots of belly rubs!  While he has not lived with felines before, he is good with other dogs, but is afraid of some of them if they are too exuberant.

To meet Mako, or any other pet visit www.humanebroward.com to complete the pre-adoption application and then stop on by the Humane Society of Broward County located at 2070 Griffin Road, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33312.  The adoption kennels open daily at 11 a.m. and if you have any questions call 954-989-3977 ext. 6.

Waddles

The Florida Keys SPCA

Meet Waddles - he's our longest running canine resident at the Key West Campus having been with us since 2021. He's also a Senior which makes his adoption free through our Golden Paw Project which you can learn about here: https://fkspca.org/adopt/
This 8 year old doodle is a complicated man, as most handsome men are. He's short in stature but long on personality, and has the strength of a dog half his age.
Has he been adopted? Yes. Has he been returned to us? Also yes. But this is not necessarily the fault of Waddles - we just need to place him in a home that can understand him, and where he will be the only dog. Waddles is not your everyday dog, and he needs a not your everyday family.
Please call our Front Desk at (305) 294 4857 to find out more about Waddles, and if you would be the best person or family for him. Someone out there is the perfect match for Waddles - could it be you?

Finland

Sweden and Finland

Avery Humane Society

Sweden and her sister Finland.
Sweden is so sweet and full of puppy energy. She loves to play with other puppies. A home with lots of activities and playtime would be perfect.

Finland is full of energy, sass and spunk. She has such a big personality and never fails to make us laugh with her antics. Finland loves playing with other dogs and is still learning to be gentle.

Haven

The Humane Society of Wilkes

Haven is a female black & white poodle mix, about 2 years old, who came to us after enduring horrific neglect. She's one of several dogs we have rescued recently that appear to have been dumped and left to starve by a cruel breeder. She's been treated for skin and ear infections, as well as for starvation, and she has finally gained some weight and is starting to feel safe. She's doing well with her crate and with house training. She's still mostly focused on food, but she just needs some more time, love, and a good routine to continue her recovery. She has shown no aggression, so she should be fine with kids, laid-back dogs, and probably cats. She's ready for her own family to help her become the beloved pet she deserves to be. A fenced yard and a home that is owned are preferred to ensure Haven is never homeless again. If you have questions, please feel free to email Blair (her foster home) at blairhsow@gmail.com. To apply to meet/adopt Haven, please complete and submit this application: https://www.humanesocietyofwilkes.org/adopt/application
